BIG NEWS!!

I know I have bee delinquent on my updates. The holidays and everything leading into them, really slowed me down. Let's be honest, they kicked my ass. But I have been working and I hope to have a new strip up on Tuesday. Until then you can join me in basking in the glow of the new provided in the following press release;

TRANSFUZION PUBLISHING ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF
GAPO THE CLOWN- BIG, FAT AND GREASY

Obnoxious Clown strips from Tony Miello with Foreword by Bill Morrison

Ann Arbor, MI (January 5, 2012) – Transfuzion Publishing today announced the release of Gapo the Clown- Big, Fat and Greasy, a collection of Tony Miello’s web strips and some new never been seen strips ( over 370 strips in all) which makes this the complete black and white Gapo the Clown comic strip collection. The book was recently self published but now will move under the Transfuzion banner.

Because he is the TV host of Gapo’s Super Happy Fun Show, kids and parents love Gapo, but his Children’s Show colleagues see him as the rude, disgusting, sloppy drunk that he really is. In Big, Fat and Greasy, Gapo does battle with a murderous sidekick, is re-united with his family of side show freaks, and gives birth to a tape worm in addition to many other escapades, often a result of Gapo’s eccentric and rude behavior.

"Gapo says what he thinks without a censor" said Tony Miello, creator of Gapo the Clown. "And most of the time, it’s mean and obnoxious. “

Gary Reed, publisher of Transfuzion, said it was an easy decision to bring Gapo into the Transfuzion fold. “I’ve known Tony for a couple of years and always thought Gapo would make a great collection. I’m glad he decided to bring it to Transfuzion after all,” said Reed, who added, “besides, we were missing a book about crazy clowns.”

The book runs 146 pages and retails for 12.99 and will be available for ordering from Transfuzion and online stores such as Amazon by mid-January.

Miello lives in the Detroit suburbs, with his wife, son, dog and the voices in his head.

Turkey Hangover

Well, I'm back. I took a little more time to myself for the holiday then I was planning too, but damn it, I enjoyed myself.

No as we gear up for the slow build to x-mas I will do my best to keep the updates on schedule, but no promises. I have some stuff coming up that I can't talk about yet but is really exciting. 2012 is already gearing up to be a big year.

Hiccup

A swing and a miss on Tuesday. My work schedule caught up with me a bit and I missed the last update. Sorry folks, I know I only update twice a week, and you can't live without your tastes of GAPO the Clown every week. I hope there was no rise in self inflicted wounds during the appearance.

I'm trying to get ahead of things right now so I don't miss any updates due to the holidays coming up. I'll do my best.

But fear not! in the advent that you miss GAPO there is a light at the end of the entertainment tunnel. My good friend Jay Fosgitt does a fantastic comic called Dead Duck which can now be read online. Just follow the link and I promise you will be floored by the art and humor. Jay is a true master of the craft of cartooning and you will not be disapointed. Go check it out.

Help A Brother Out

First off, I want to thank Mike and the guys up at Top Comics in Traverse City, MI for the awesome signing this past Saturday. I got to met a bunch of great people, made some new friends and got the rock start treatment. They know how to show a dopey cartoonist a good time. I'm really looking forward to get back there for the Cherry Capital Con in April.

And now down to business. A buddy of mine is working on a new project and he needs your support. Please watch the video then follow the link for this new comic venture. It looks like a lot of fun and I'd really like to see it get finished. We thank you for your support.

And The Promotional Train Rolls ON

Okay you fans of marginally entertaining comics, I have another in-store appearance to promote.

Tomorrow, Saturday October 29th, I will be at
Top Comics in Traverse City, MI signing and sketching my new GAPO the Clown book Big, Fat and Greasy. Come on down and pick up your copy. And if you don't want a copy of my book, come on down anyway and support a great comic shop.

I'm looking forward to this signing a lot. Mike Akerley and the guys at Top Comic are great. They promote the Cherry Capital Con every year which is always a fun, well run show which I will be attending again in 2012. And I suggest you do the same.

Let's Drop This Thing

I've been talking about it for over a year now and the time has finally come.

Tomorrow I will be at Comics and More in Madison Heights, MI for the debut of my new book, GAPO the Clown - Big, Fat and Greasy. THE Chris Brown (owner of Comics and More) was nice enough to invite me down to do the big unveil in his store and I'll be there from noon to 5pm signing and sketching.

And if you can't make it down, fear not. You can always get your copy through the GAPO the Clown store. There are still Artist Proof copies available as well as the regular copy of the book. And if you're a retailer and would like to host a store signing or just order some signed copies of the book for your store, you can email me at Tony@gapotheclown.com for all the details.

I Told You So

We're back! Yes, I know you thought you were rid of us, but I did say the clown would be back. The strip will be back to it's regular schedule of Tuesday and Friday updates barring any unforeseen accidents, like a piano falling on my head.

The good news is that on top of everything else I did on my summer break, I finally finished the book. That's right, GAPO the Clown - Big, Fat and Greasy is done and printed. I"m very proud of how the book came out and I'm looking forward to getting it into your hands. It will be making it's debut on October 19th when I do my very first signing at Comics and More in Madison Heights, MI. If you can't make it the fear not. I will be scheduling more signings throughout the remainder of the year and will start hitting the convention to support the book in 2012.

If you can't wait to see me at a signing (and let's face it who could blame you) you can just click over to the GAPO the Clown store and pick up a copy now. There is the standard edition for $12.99 which will come signed. There is also the Artist Proof edition for $30.00. The AP edition is limited to 20 copies and comes numbered, signed and sketched.

There will be lots more news to come so be sure to keep up with the latest strips for all your grease painted fun.

Things Are Still Moving Forward

Just thought I'd pop in and give you good folks a little update on what's going on.

I am still working on the GAPO the Clown book. I will be starting a Kickstarter campaign to help raise money for the printing and will post a link for it here. I have some great incentives planned and fans of the strip will not want to miss out on this. I will also be posting the cover art soon, so check back for that.

I am still working hard on a number of non GAPO projects. Once I can clear these off my plate I will get back to work on the comic strip. On of these projects is the comic book for the rock band Bowling For Soup. All the pages for the up coming comic have been penciled and are in the proces of being inked. Look for the band to release a print comic and a download version.

Detroit FanFare is coming together nicely. You really need to head over to www.DetroitFanFare.com and see the awesome guest list we have lined up already.

That's it for now. Keep checking back for updates. New strips will return over the summer.

I Guess It Was Inevitable

Today's strip was suppose to go up on Friday. That was when I was going to make this announcement. But Friday was April Fool's Day and I figured that no one would take it seriously.

I tried to make a post on Tuesday, which is suppose to happen anyway, But I was just way to busy with deadline work to finish the strip.

Friday is the normal day to update, but why put off 'till tomorrow...

This will be the last GAPO the Clown strip for a while.

As I'm sure most of you have noticed, I have been missing a lot off updates. That is because I am very busy with other projects and I can't give GAPO the Clown my full attention. It's sad because if it wasn't for this dopey strip I wouldn't have this other work, but at the same time it's good news because GAPO has brought me a bit of success.

While I'm away I'll be doing mostly contracted work and sketch card sets and I will be doing some writing. I'll be developing a new all-ages comic and working on a horror graphic novel, so it wont be like I'll be sitting on my fat ass.

But there is light at the end of the tunnel for GAPO. I'll also be finishing up the GAPO book, which will be titled "GAPO the Clown - Big, Fat and Greasy" (which now will have an added bonus that I can't wait to tell you about) and publishing another comic.

GAPO the Clown the comic strip will return at the end of the summer and finish off this outer space adventure. In the mean time check back here for updates on the book and other important GAPO related news.

Work, Work, Work....

I know, I know, I missed an update or two. But I have a good excuse. I've been working my butt off on "GAPO the Clown - Big, Fat and Greasy" as well as getting things rolling big time on this years Detroit FanFare. If you've been following us on facebook you know all about the major announcements we've made over the last month.

The long wait is almost over. The GAPO book is closer to being finished. In fact, I'll be posting the preview art for the cover soon after I return from C2E2. And speaking of C2E2, I will be signing comics at the Comic Related Booth from 2 - 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Come on down and say hi.

And click the link on the right for the gapotheclown.com fan page on facebook and you can see a preview of the cover for the next GAPO comic which should be out in April.
